Frogboy, you talk a lot about AI regarding games and all the work you've done tweaking it for turn-based methods. When you talk about AI, is there a particular discipline you work with or that appeals to you when dealing with decision making?
My background: I've been working for... shoot almost 2 years now on some university unmanned systems research. The algorithm we're working on is primarily deterministic (it's not that complicated actually, just a method for weighting and balancing desired objectives). But after my advisor died last year, I got a number of his books including material about fuzzy logic, neural nets, other stochastic methods, and especially the Kalman filter.
I'm most interested in the last one since I want to work with navigation, guidance, and control, but the former would be valuable at least for comparing what we're already working on. I think and guess that probabilistic models would not work all that well for what we're doing (predictability in collision avoidance in US airspace), but I'm curious about what kind of stuff you think about.
Thanks!

ps- Anyone else who works with AI post away. I consider myself a complete n00b, but curious and I want to add some of these things to my professional toolbelt.
