Ok this is a weird request but hear me out. This is about the Start 11 autohide functionality. I maintain an HTPC that runs Kodi and I'd like to keep the taskbar from popping up over Kodi or any other launched program unless I explicitly need to. Conventionally a lot of people have simply replaced the Explorer.exe shell with Kodi to do this. But I also use the Windows Store apps for my streaming services (long story, but Kodi's volunteer add-ons for these are really janky and make exploring options difficult). That requires Explorer to be running.
I just re-upped an Object Desktop subscription and I noticed that v2 already replaces the normal taskbar appearance without killing Explorer completely. Is it possible that there could be an additional option to stop the taskbar from popping up in any circumstance I don't hit the Windows key? That way I've got Explorer, Kodi is running like an appliance, and I only get access to the taskbar and start menu when I really need it. Eh? Eh?
